- Understanding Hinduism: A Catholic Theological & Pastoral Perspective
Sunday, July 14 at 7:00 PM — St. Michael’s Parish Hall
This presentation will offer a clear, charitable, and pastoral explanation of Hindu belief, Bhakti devotion, and the modern New Age movement. Many in our society remain fascinated by Eastern religions and the exoticism of Hindu spirituality. While Hinduism contains certain “seeds of the Word” (λόγος σπερματικός), it ultimately leaves the heart unfulfilled.
I hope to give “a reason for the hope that is in us” (1 Peter 3:15) in the face of Hinduism and New Age currents, and to share how the ancient longing expressed in “Lead me from the unreal to the real” finds its fulfillment in Jesus Christ. Finding Christ has been the most beautiful grace of my life, and I pray this talk helps our people understand the difference between the human search for truth and the fullness of truth revealed in the Catholic faith.
- Exhibit of Sacred Relics “A Night Where Heaven Touches Earth”
Monday, July 22 at 7:00 PM St. Michael’s Church
We will be hosting a presentation and veneration of sacred relics through the Treasures of the Church Relic Apostolate. The evening will include a short catechesis on relics, followed by time for the faithful to venerate around twenty relics of well‑known saints and martyrs, including Apostles, early Church martyrs, Doctors of the Church, and beloved saints known to our people.
